I grabbed this bottle of Italian red wine on my way out the door for a two-day snowboarding excursion. Italian wine, so far for me, has been hit or miss. Some of the bottles are quality and have a lot to offer, while others are just plain bad.
Unfortunately for me at the moment, Micante falls into the latter category. To be honest, I think that this is probably the worst tasting bottle of red wine that I’ve had to date — barring the corked bottle that I opened a week or two ago. I might be getting a bit extreme here, but this wine is so devoid of flavor. Micante is red wine and nothing more. It tastes watered down and really just doesn’t have anything worthwhile to offer.
